Mushroom Curry

Rava Dosa

A tasty dosa that is easier to make than the regular one with no grinding or fermentation required.

Pointer 1: Can be made within an hour after the mix is prepared.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cream of wheat (rava)
  • 1 cup rice flour^
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 cups buttermilk to prepare the above flour mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 diced green chillies
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds^
  • Canola or olive oil to spread around each dosa

Method:
Mix the 3 flours together and make a thin dough with light buttermilk. You may just mix water to create the light consistency.

Add the diced chillies, cumin and salt to the mix. Set it aside for about an hour. Take a heavy dosa pan^ or dosa griddle warm over medium heat. Then spread the dough evenly on pan with a ladle. Add a spoon of oil around the dough. When the bottom of dough turns light brown, flip it once over. You may add another 1/2 tsp. of oil again so both sides are brown. Just fold the dosa and remove from pan. Serve with Sambaar , masala and chutney. Will be posting recipes for masala and chutney this week.
